MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE - EXPO 1998
MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE was a production for the world EXPO 1998 exhibition in Lisbon, Portugal. Fourteen Portuguese actors were trained for this production by Titanick director Uwe Köhler. Every evening from May till September 1998 the MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE creature lead the Pilgrimage of the Arts according to the theme of the EXPO: 'The oceans - a heritage for our future'The creature's giant eye and long antennae went searching for information about nature and humanity. This information was printed on paper sheets which were gathered in a great bottle at the end of its body. At the end of the 1.2 km EXPO route, the filled bottle was laid onto the waters of the River Tejo.
